A County Durham construction firm has been fined after a trainee steel erector in a boom lift was crushed against a steel rail. The 20-year-old from Consett was working for Crossgill Construction Ltd when the incident happened on 21st February 2013.

UK based rental company Lifterz has ordered three 19 metre CMC S19’s and a further two 15 metre CMC S15 tracked spider lifts for its spider lift division in the East Midlands.

IPAF's latest report reveals that there were 23 fatalities worldwide involving mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) in the first half of 2014, according to findings from their accident database. Just goes to show the importance of proper training and safety procedures.
